Dr. Moise
Koffi is a Full Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science
at Hostos Community College. He earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from
the CUNY Graduate Center in 2013. His research focuses on oscillation-induced
flows and associated heat-transfer characteristics, with applications in
biological systems such as heat dissipation in elephants. He has published his
research in leading engineering journals and presented his work at national and
international conferences. Dr. Koffi is a PI and Co-PI on major NYSED and NSF grants to support
STEM pathways for Hostos undergraduates and local secondary school students. Since
2006 he has led projects serving over 5,000 underrepresented and economically
disadvantaged students and secured overall about $16 million in funding during
his tenure at Hostos to sustain and expand these initiatives.
